This project conserved approximately 180 acres of land by fee simple acquisition. It includes approximately 38 acres of freshwater emergent, scrub-shrub, and forested wetlands; multiple Significant Vernal Pools and their associated critical terrestrial habitat; a small amount of frontage on Concord Pond; and upland buffer. The project included approximately 4,981 feet of perennial and intermittent streams, much of which is mapped as Wild Brook Trout Habitat. The site is part of a large Undeveloped Habitat Block and abuts the BPL-owned Little Concord Pond State Park at the southeast corner and a conservation easement held by Mahoosuc Land Trust at the northeastern edge. Maine Bureau of Parks and Lands will retain and manage the land for its natural resource values, as well as for timber management in select locations and low-impact recreation.
