          Project Description
This Strawberry Creek project conserved approximately 3.5 acres of upland including coastal parcels and a small island, surrounded by approximately 13 acres of estuarine intertidal and subtidal wetlands. The intertidal and subtidal wetlands include high value salt marsh, mud flats, rockweed beds, and eelgrass beds. The conserved property includes frontage on Harpswell Sound at the mouth of Strawberry Creek. The shoreline around the uplands is mapped as Tidal Waterfowl and Wading Bird Habitat. The site is located just south and west of town-owned conservation land along Strawberry Creek, and east of Stover's Island in Harpswell Sound that is also conserved by the town of Harpswell.
