Project Description:
The Norton Brook project conserved approximately 52 acres of land including freshwater forested and scrub-shrub wetlands and forested upland buffer. The parcel includes approximately 2,200 linear feet of Norton Brook, which runs along the western boundary, as well as multiple wetland seeps and drainages that feed into Norton Brook. A vernal pool is present on the property providing breeding habitat for amphibians. The property protects a documented occurrence of variable sedge (Carex polymorpha), a state-listed endangered plant.
